Puppy Love Valentine's Day Card

This is a really cute Valentine's craft for any child who loves puppies, so basically it's great for all kids of all ages. If you recall as a kid learning how to draw a dog's face with an upside down heart then you will appreciate the charm of this craft.

You may want to make heart shaped templates for the children, especially younger ones, to trace.

Supplies

Colored paper
Scissors
Glue Markers or crayons

Directions for Valentine Puppy

Draw and cut out hearts of varying sizes for your card: two large hearts, one medium size heart, three small hearts, and two elongated hearts for the ears.

Place the medium sized heart upside down in front of you, and then place a large size heart upside down next to it. Scoot the large heart over just enough that a small part of it overlaps the medium size one. These will form the font and back part of the dog's body. Glue them together.

To make the tail, glue a small heart onto the upside down medium heart.

Glue the second small heart to an upside down large heart to form the tongue. Glue it to the back so just the pointed part shows. Use the scissors to round the tongue (so it's not sharp like a snake's!). Using the markers or crayons give the puppy eyes.

Glue the puppy's head to the front of the body (large, upside down heart).

Create the cute button nose by gluing the last small heart, right side up, to the face.

For the ears, glue the elongated hearts to the top of the head so that the points of the hearts meet on top and the bottoms drape over the sides of the face.

Directions for Valentine's Card

Fold a piece of pink or red construction paper in half to form a card.
Glue the puppy to the front of the card.
Inside the card, write a Valentine's message, like "I ruff you!"
Decorate the inside of the card with hearts.
