Easter Crafts: Easter Egg Marbling Crafts for Children

Kids Crafts: Marbling Easter Eggs

Hello, Cupcake!: Irresistibly Playful Creations Anyone Can Make

When you start reading this kids craft it may sound difficult, it is actually very easy once you grasp the idea. Please bear with my lengthy instruction for this kids craft, you'll find the craft fun and easy. It is also a technique that can be used with lots of other objects.

Kids love doing kids crafts and Easter eggs are almost compulsory. One fun craft is marbling. It is true that marbling may take a little more preparation but, the end result is well worth the extra preparation this kids craft requires. Make really pretty Easter eggs this year!

The technique of marbling is very easy; it is only the preparations that require some effort and special supplies. All the supplies are readily available at craft stores though and most can even be found online. The most crucial will be the ”size,“ that is the water solution the paint needs to float on.

Making your size correctly is most important part as the rest is all part of the fun. Size is what gives your water the viscous quality that allows the paint to float on the water so it can be manipulated. Powdered gelatin can be used but the best is made from powdered carragheen moss that is available from craft shops. You need to mix enough to fill your tray half full. Apart from this you’ll also need a dispersing agent and for the oil based paints you can use ox-gall, available from craft stores but you can also get very interesting effects with washing-up liquids. Only a small quantity is needed.

The supplies you need for this crafts:

  • A tray ½ filled with your size
  • Pinchers or framing clamps to hold your eggs with whilst immersing them
  • Your oil paint in the colors you want to use
  • Clean sticks to work your paint with (one for each color)
  • Absorbent paper that you eggs can lie on until they are dry
  • Hard boiled eggs
  • Spray varnish

This is how you do this crafts:

Prepare your size as follows:

Dissolve ½ a teaspoon in 1 pint of warm water for every 3 gallons of size you need. Mix it well. If your paint does not want to float on the size you may have to dilute it a little.

Prepare your tray as follows:

  1. Fill your tray ½ full with size.
  2. Dip a stick into one of your paints.
  3. Now you have to tip the size with your index finger so that the color drips over surface of your size.
  4. Gently stroke the surface of the size with the tip of your stick
  5. Repeat the process with the other colors you want to use.
  6. Do not use too many colors 2 or 3 will do.
  7. You should try and work rapidly with your paint.

Now for the fun part:

  1. Apply a thin coat of white vinyl to your hard boiled eggs.
  2. Let it air dry.
  3. Make a pattern in your tray by drawing with your sticks over it.
  4. Now you have to gently immerse your eggs holding it with your pinchers or clamps. The paint will adhere to the surface.
  5. Let the size drip off and allow the color to dry for a day or more.
  6. Varnish with spray varnish.
  7. Allow to dry.

Fun Kids Crafts E-Book

Have you been searching the net for kid's crafts ideas for ever? I'm sure you feel frustrated by now because it feels as if you are wasting hours, hours you could have spent doing crafts with the kids. You definitely need a way to get hold of kid's crafts ideas faster and easier. I know exactly how you feel; we went through the same pain to get crafts to do with our little granddaughter Anabel, NO MORE!

Now there is a way you can stop all this and spend your time having fun with the kids actually doing the crafts. I have come across an e-book that has lots of fun and easy kid's crafts ideas for you to choose from. The name of the book is Fun Kids Crafts. The descriptions in this e-book are easy to follow and where it is necessary there are templates that you can print with ease. Most of the crafts can also be adjusted to suit your kid's level of development.

Fun kids crafts starts with a very good selection of Bible crafts. These crafts also include "Christian" crafts to teach the kids real "Christian" behavior. What I especially find handy is the pre-school craft that is also included in these bible crafts.

In the section with birthday gifts for dad, there is a really easy and fun craft that will be ideal for father's day. It boils down to "Dad, I'm nuts about you." Do have a look at it; even the little pre-schoolers will be able to do it with a little help. That is not all, there is still a whole category of father's day crafts that you'll love!

This only touches on all the great kids' crafts ideas you'll get in this e-book. Have a look at some of the other crafts available:

1. Easy Crafts:
